Diademed tanager bird (Stephanophorus diadematus)
The seven-colored tanager is a passerine bird of the Thraupidae family. Also known as flock tanager and seven-colored tanager (Descourtilz).Its scientific name means: from the Tupi tangará = dancer; and from the German seledonkopf = name given to this green bird by Statius Müller (1776), derived from the French céladon = light green. ⇒ Light green dancer or seledon dancer.It measures about 13.5 centimeters in length and weighs about 18 grams.The adult male has complex and bright plumage. The head, nape, and chin are turquoise in color. A broad pale yellow-green band crosses the nape and upper mantle, and extends around the sides of the neck to the throat. The shoulders are black and the primary coverts are blue-violet. The rump is yellow-orange and the upper part of the tail is turquoise-blue. The tail is black with light green edges at the base, becoming turquoise-blue distally.

A frugivorous bird, it's easily found in its natural biome wherever there's enough food available, tending to behave aggressively towards other species of birds when disputing for food. Can be seen in cities, for example in the vicinity of the Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro. Nests by building a cup-shaped nest hidden amongst foliage, where it lays two to three greenish-blue, black-spotted eggs.

Black-headed Gonolek.The black-headed gonolek (Laniarius erythrogaster) is a species of bird in the family Malaconotidae. It is found in Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.Its natural habitats are dry savanna, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, and subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland.The black-headed gonolek is a distinctively coloured bush-shrike though it is generally shy and retiring. However, close to human habitation and in gardens, it often becomes much bolder. It has a very distinctive call which it makes in concert with its partner. The male makes a loud, clear, bell-like sound to which the female responds almost simultaneously with a harsh grating response.
