The Pale Shrimp-goby is a small fish, reaching a maximum length of about 6.5 centimeters. It has a pale body with three rows of large brown spots along the sides. There is a dark blotch behind the eye and small dark spots and streaks on the head. The Pale Shrimp-goby is a shy fish and is not often seen. A Silverspot Shrimpgoby (Ctenogobiops crocineus) rests on the sandy bottom of a coral reef, blending in with its surroundings thanks to its mottled brown and white pattern. This small fish is often found in symbiotic relationships with pistol shrimp, sharing a burrow for mutual benefit. As it swims, its long dorsal fin and tail streamers trail behind it, creating a graceful silhouette. The Silverspot Shrimpgoby is a popular subject for underwater photographers and marine life enthusiasts.
Whitebarred Goby Amblygobius phalaena occurs in the tropical Pacific Ocean from the Philippines to the Society Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to southern Australia (including Lord Howe Island) and Rapa Island and throughout Micronesia in a depth range from 2-52m, but usually not deeper than 20m, max. length 15cm. \nThe monogamous species lives solitary or in pairs, feeding by sifting mouthfuls of sand and expelling it through the gills, to capture small invertebrates, organic matter, and large quantities of algae. \nAdults inhabit coastal reefs and lagoons on sand and rubble margins of algal reefs and sometimes near seagrass beds. \nLembeh Strait, Indonesia,\n1°27'33.36 N 125°13'52.734 E at 2m depth
