Guttation is how a plant gets rid of excess water through tiny openings on leaves and stems.

This is actually guttation, a process where the leaf, by osmosis takes on water at night when it's stomas are closed, so the water is forced out of the leaf edges. You need to get up early to see this, or just download one of my photos in this series for your website or blog. Dew forms on the leaves as well, though you can't see it on this shot. I love the shadows formed by the droplets.
