People are walking on Pilies street. Pilies Street is one of the main streets in the Old Town of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. It is rather a short street, running from Cathedral Square to the Town Hall Square. Here always a lot of tourists and locals. This street has a many cosy cafe and restorants and many little souvenir shops.

Long ago in the middle ages, the Vilnius Cathedral was a place of pagan worship, as it was a large, archaic church where the old Baltic religion was practiced. In the thirteenth century, it was constructed into a cathedral when a king converted to Christianity. The king died and the church became a place of pagan practices once again. However, when Lithuania officially became a Christian country, this site became a Christian cathedral once again. It stands in honor of Saints Stanislaus and Ladislaus. The beautiful tower stands with the main church, whose architecture has many neoclassical elements. This means that it is a modern take on the aesthetics of Greco-Roman classic styles.
