Dinophysis algae under microscopic view, Chromista, diatoms, phytoplankton, fossils, silica, golden yellow algae
Diatoms are photosynthesising algae, they have a siliceous skeleton and are found in almost every aquatic environment including fresh and marine waters.

Colonial Radiolarian from the family Collosphaeridae (such as Sphaerozoum) form transparent gelatinous spheres typically 1 to 3 mm in diameter. Each bright point inside the sphere is an individual radiolarian zooid, containing a tiny opaline silica body, which strongly scatters light under dark-field illumination. The colonies often occur in warm, oligotrophic surface waters, including those around French Polynesia. Inside the colony, the zooids are embedded in a mucous matrix and interconnected by cytoplasmic strands, allowing them to share nutrients and maintain structural integrity. The copepod nauplius larva is a very common planktonic organism. Nauplii are easily recognized by their paired dark naupliar eyes, their three sets of appendages, and their nearly transparent, soft body. They swim in short, jerky motions and frequently collide with larger gelatinous structures drifting in the plankton. It is therefore common to find nauplii there. The photo was taken with Canon R5 with 100mm makro lens plus a high end wet lens from SEACAM. Tiputa Passage of Rangiroa, Tuamoto Atoll, French Polynesia 14°58'12.438 S 147°37'35.094 W at 3m depth

Study of Protozoa, Algae and bacteria under the microscope for education.
This photograph showcases a detailed microscopic view of Obelia leptothecata, a marine hydrozoan. The image reveals intricate cellular structures and features, highlighted by the staining and magnification, making it ideal for illustrating scientific research or educational materials about marine biology.

Detail of a rocky beach with (mostly) sandstone rock formation at the coastline of the Greek Island of Chios in the Aegean Sea in early autumn (October). The image was captured on old-fashioned 35mm black and white film by an analogue (or analog) 35 mm film camera. The granularity in the image is real film grain (due to the presence of small particles of a metallic silver on the negative). Minimal post processing has been done (only adjustment of histogram). The image is part of a series of the rocky coastline of Chios, Greece.
