The scyphostoma larva (the fixed polyp-like stage in the life cycle of a jellyfish, which reproduces asexually) of Nausithoe punctata bears a striking superficial resemblance to a hydroid and it lives commensal within sponges. This hydroid-like larva forms a branching tree-like growth within the body of the sponge, the polyp mouths and their tentacles projecting out of the oscula (mouthlike aperture) of the sponge. The mouth of the polypite is surrounded by an annulus of about 40 solid filiform tentacles. The ephyra (immature medusa stage) of Nausithoe arise by strobilization (asexual reproduction by division into segments) from this larva. The young ephyra has only 4 gastric filaments and no tentacles. The species occurs in the North Atlantic Ocean in the Mediterranean Sea and circumglobal in warm waters. Max. diameter of adult Nausithoe punctata is 1.5cm. Many Brittle stars Ophiothrix sp. and a Red throated Ascidian Herdmania momus just below. Palau, Iro Wreck 7°17'39.7 N 134°25'15.18 E at 10m depth

Modest snapping shrimp (Synalpheus modestus) three quarter front view (15 mm in size). Wolfsnout Goby Luposicya lupus occurs in the Indo-West Pacific from Pinda in Mozambique to Indonesia, north to Japan and south/east to Tonga in a depth range from 0-15m, max. length 3.5cm. The species inhabits large sponges, usually on the underside of floppy or fan types that grow on shallow reef flats and down on slopes that are subject to moderate currents. \nThis specimen was encountered even a bit deeper than the usual max. depth at 17m. \nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia \n3°54'59.5859 S 134°6'6.4748 E at 17m depth

The Commensal Anemone Shrimp, the Holthuis Cleaner Shrimp Ancylomenes holthuisi (former Periclimenes holthuisi) occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific in a depth range from 6-30m. The species is not shy, no matter a fish or a diver, everyone gets the service! The length of the specimen on top of the little finger is 18mm from head to tail. Commensal Emperor Shrimp or Imperial Shrimp Zenopontonia rex (ex. Periclimenes imperator) occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific from the Red Sea, Réunion and Mayotte to Hawaii and French Polynesia, and from southern Japan to New Caledonia and northern Australia in a depth range from 1 to 40m, max. length 3cm. The species is always living in association with a large sea cucumber, a nudibranch or other large mollusc, perching on its back as its host moves around. \nThere is often a pair of shrimps, or even three, on a single host, and then they usually have identical colouring. The colouring also varies depending on the shrimp's host; the classic colouring usually occurs when it is associated with a sea cucumber. \nZenopontonia rex keeps to the dorsal surface or flanks, moving to the far side of the host if danger threatens. The shrimp feeds on detritus on the seabed, as well as cleaning the surface of its host and feeding on mucus and faeces.\nThis specimen was encountered at a Sea Cucumber Bohadschia sp. in the Lembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia\n1°29'33.414 N 125°15'40.446 E at 10m depth
